Providing in-building DAS emergency radio coverage is required by the Washington Fire Code, with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1221 as the reference standard and local amendments, adopted statewide per RCW 19.27.031 and WAC 51-54A-003.
The Washington Fire Code (Section 510.6.2) requires that DAS Property Owners comply with any modifications to their broadcast radio system, which must be PSERN-compliant.
